Despite being banned in many districts, illegal charcoal harvesting continues secretly within many of ManilaÕs outer suburban slums.
Just a few kilometres from ManilaÕs city centre the poorest of the slum familiesÕ risk their lives to make just a few pesos in the illegal charcoal making business in appalling conditions.
